Palace commends PNP for the rescue of a Las Pinas businessman 

Malacanang hailed the Philippine National Police for rescuing a Las Pinas businessman from his kidnappers in Pangasinan.
 
Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said the standard operation procedures of law enforcers have largely improved and the police should be commended for its efforts to stop kidnapping. 

Remonde stressed cooperation between government and sectors is essential in solving kidnappings cases in the country.

For her part, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo said the rescue of Rodriguez shows that government is determined to end kidnapping. 

Teams from the Presidential Anti-Crime and Emergency Response (PACER) and the Pangasinan Police raided the hideout of the kidnappers holding the 23-year old Julian Rodriguez in urdaneta city, pangasinan.
 
Five suspected members of the kidnap for ransom gang were killed in the police operation. 
 
Authorities retrieved one Identity card from one of the suspects bearing the name Technical Sargent Dionisio Obillo.
