President Aquino declares July 10 as special
non-working day in Sta Rosa City, Laguna in celebration of 9th Cityhood
Anniversary
President Benigno S. Aquino III has declared
July 10, which falls on a Wednesday, as a special (non-working) day in the city
of Sta. Rosa in the province of Laguna in celebration of its 9th Cityhood
Anniversary.
The Chief Executive issued the declaration
through Proclamation No. 614 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr.
on June 28 to give the people of Sta. Rosa City the full opportunity to
celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
The municipality of Santa Rosa was converted
into a city pursuant to Republic Act 9264 dated March 10, 2004. The cityhood
was ratified by its resident in a plebiscite held on July 10, 2004. PND (js)
