Malacanang allays fears that President's Social
Fund being misused
Malacanang allayed fears that the President’s
Social Fund (PSF) was being misused saying President Benigno S. Aquino III was
very “judicious” in disbursing the fund.
In a press briefing aired over government-run
radio station dzRB Radyo ng Bayan on Sunday, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson
Abigail Valte said that anyone who wanted to assure that the PSF was strictly
being dispensed for its intended use could check with the Commission on Audit
reports beginning July 2010.
“Tinitiyak natin na transparent at tama ang
paggamit dito sa pondong napupunta sa President’s Social Fund at makikita natin
yan mula sa mga Commission on Audit (COA) reports mula noong 2010,” Valte said.
She pointed out that the COA reports on the PSF
contained the amount and how and where it was used.
“Nandun po kung papaano, kung magkano ang mga
pinagkuhaan diyan, kung magkano ang balanse at kung ite-trace niyo, makikita na
lumalaki yung naging pondo dahil hindi siya nagagamit taon-taon. Hindi siya
nasasagad taon-taon at nare-replenish ng nare-replenish,” she added.
“And so by this, nakikita natin na judicious ang
paggamit ng Pangulo diyan sa pondong yan,” she noted. PND (rck)
