New presidential website to be launched Monday
Malacañang announced that the official website of President Benigno S. Aquino III will be formally launched in Malacañang on Monday (August 16).
Presidential Communications and Operations Office Secretary Herminio “Sonny” Coloma made the announcement Sunday afternoon in an interview aired over government radio station DZRB.
Coloma said President Aquino’s website (www.president.gov.ph) will provide the viewing public updates on the official appearances and events of the President as well as offer a venue where they can air all their concerns regarding the government.
Coloma also said the new website will have features similar to popular social networking sites such as “Facebook” and “Twitter” that allow users to send and receive messages from the person they are “talking” to but in this case, the people can send “feedback” on any concern about government and in turn, the authorities can immediately act on it.
Coloma said a media briefing will be held immediately after the website’s launching ceremony to allow media practitioners to see just how “user-friendly” the portal is and to answer questions they may have about the website.
