‘Join us in ending the cycle of suffering’ – Aquino tells new Doctors
President Benigno S. Aquino III enjoined this year’s batch of new doctors from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine as well as new interns of the Philippine General Hospital post-graduate internship course to join government efforts to end the Filipinos’ age-old “cycle of suffering” that has ended dreams and has prevented the people from improving their lives.
The President made the call in his speech keynoting the 102nd Commencement Exercise of the UPCM which was held simultaneous with the closing ceremony of the post-graduate internship course of PGH.
“Samahan ninyo kaming tapusin ang siklo ng pagtitiis,” the President told the 263 members of Batch 2011 (153 graduates of UP and 110 interns from different medical schools all over the country).
He pointed out that as new doctors they will not only be remedying the illness of the body but that which has been ailing our country.
Aquino hopeful to see new Doctors as partners of change
President Benigno S. Aquino III vowed to work harder to clean up “the system” which he said was the main reason why Filipino doctors as well as other Filipino professionals prefer to work abroad.
In his speech keynoting the 102ndCommencement Exercise of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City Sunday afternoon, the President said with a less corrupt and susceptible system, Filipinos may choose to dedicate their time and effort in helping improve the lives of the people and the motherland.
He expressed hope that the new doctors as well as other Filipino professionals would choose to remain in the country and become partners of government in its push towards a brighter future.
(PCOO)
